Nicola Pio Belfiore teaches Functional Design and Applied Mechanics at Sapienza University of Rome, Italy. After the achievement of the Ph.D. degree, completed at Sapienza in cooperation with the University of Maryland, College Park (under the guidance of Prof. Lung-Wen Tsai), Prof. Belfiore has won two international awards in the USA and one in Europe.  Since 2008 he is Honorary Professor of the Obuda University (former Budapest TECH) Hungary. Author of three textbooks, of two patents and of about one hundred scientific papers he is the coordinators of several scientific projects, both National and European. Since 2013 he is the Directo of teh Master EFER in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at Sapienza University of Rome. His actual interests are Mechanics, Functional Design, Robotics, Dynamics, MEMS, Tribology and New Methods in High Education.
